Why is it like that? Only God knows! Really???

I must say that the post of today is not really related with computers, well actually it is, but it is not in the usual way. A good raining Sunday is always perfect to watch so movie. From time to time I like to revisit some old stuff, and since a while I have in the shelf two sci-fi movies to watch Blade Runner (no introduction needed) and Time Bandits.

I decided to go for Time Bandits, it was about a bunch of dwarfs (yes the little fellows) that travels trough time to robe. Although it has a little of Monty Python on that it has some nice time travel references (like wormholes), I recommend anyway.

But back to the computers, I was not here to discuss time travel! There was a speech in movie, from Evil (the bad guy) that is like this:

“…because I have understanding.
Minion: – Uh, understanding of what, master?

Evil: – Of digital watches.
Evil: – Soon I shall have understanding of video cassets recorders and car telephones.
Evil: – And when I have understanding of them, I shall have understanding of computers.
Evil: – And when I have understanding of computers, I shall be the SUPREME BEING.
Evil: – God isn’t interested in technology. He knows nothing of the potential of the micro-chip or the silicon revolution.
Evil: – Look how He spends His time. Forty-three species of parrots! Nipples for men!
Evil: – He created slugs… They can’t hear. They can’t speak. They can’t operate machinery.
Evil: – Are we not in the hands of a lunatic?
Evil: – If I were creating a world, I wouldn’t mess about with butterflies and daffodils.

It is simply perfect to describe the people that understand computers :-), the only difference is that our world  is a little bit messier. Also next time that the answer to the question: Why is the code like that? is Only God knows! Well you already know that is not true, he doesn’t know about computers.

But as I am not Evil and I am not start tomorrow at 08:00 with Lasers better go!
